Clare Carlisle

Clare Carlisle is one of the foremost philosophical biographers of her generation, a writer who has reanimated the lives of thinkers as different as Kierkegaard, Spinoza, and George Eliot. Professor of Philosophy at King's College London, she is the author of Philosopher of the Heart and The Marriage Question, winner of the 2024 PEN/Jacqueline Bograd Weld Award for Biography, and in 2024 she delivered the Gifford Lectures at St Andrews.
